im revising natural explorer for ranger to try and make class features that make it fun for me. i want to make it so depending on the terrain you pick you get a constant passive buff along with weaker versions of the abilities you get while in the favored terrains. a couple of these i don't like a lot so if you have suggestion for any of these feel free to comment but i cant think of anything that would work with forest. my friend suggested advantage on animal handling or survival but i think that applied to all rangers and it would be overpowered compared to the others. what do you think?
Arctic- you’re comfortable in freezing temperatures, not needing a coat or fire to survive
Coast- +15 feet of swimming speed
Desert- you can live twice as long without water
Forest-
Grassland- +5 movement speed
Mountain- +15 climbing speed
Swamp- water does not slow you down if you are not fully submerged in it
Underdark- you gain 25 feet of darkvision but if you already have darkvision you can now see color while using it.
Forest - perhaps something like "tree movement" - you can move across the tree tops at 1/2 speed, which grants additional stealth / perception bonuses?

Something similar was spitballed by Mike Mearls in one of his Happy Fun Hour videos a little over 2 years ago.
