Hello! So I am currently playing an Assassin Rogue and recently found out the DM is taking us to lvl 20. I am currently 3 rogue / 3 fighter with BattleMaster for the extra Superiority dice damage and slightly more sustainable dmg after the first round.
At the moment I am thinking of doing an 11/9 split, but I am having a hard time deciding whether taking rogue to 11 for the 6th sneak attack die and reliable talent or taking fighter to 11 for the d10 superiority die and the 2nd extra attack. Any advice in the matter would be a HUGE help. Thank you in advance!
I can't speak from personal experience of Fighter/Rogue specifically, but I've had some characters multi-classing with Fighter; the trickiest part I've found is whether to maximise your Ability Score Improvements, or to sacrifice one for a class trait that you want more.
This will be an issue on your 11/9 split if 11 is in Fighter, as you're losing the 14th level ASI for Fighter, and also won't get the 10th level ASI for Rogue, so you need to weigh up whether the abilities you're getting instead are worth it compared to a boosted ability score or an extra feat. You'll still be getting one extra ASI at 6th level for the Fighter side at least, so you might not need the second.

Thank you! I'll take a closer look at which ASI/Feats I'd want for the full build.
