So I’m a rouge/thief who multiclassed into Ranger/Gloomstalker and I have a question about the Dread Ambusher ability.
If I add my sneak attack modifier (currently 5d6) to my first attack (let’s say it’s a longbow attack whose damage is 1d8+2) , can I add it (sneak attack) to the second attack that the Dread Ambusher allows and the 1d8 damage?
If this is allowable would my damage roll look like this: 1d8+2 > 5d6 > 1d8 + 2 > 5d6 > 1d8
Sneak attack is only once per turn so you could only apply it to the first attack you make.
That's only partially true.
Here's info on sneak attack directly from the Rogue page.
"Beginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.
You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.
The amount of the extra damage increases as you gain levels in this class, as shown in the Sneak Attack column of the Rogue table."
It is entirely up to you when your sneak attack damage applies if the conditions are met. If you have 3 attacks in a turn you can choose which of those attacks to apply your sneak attack damage to.

Apologies on the poor wording, I should have said it only applies to one attack you make.
Yes, the sneak attack can be added once in a turn only , but on any of your attacks in that turn.
You could use on the first attack, or the dread ambush extra attack, but not both.
