So, this is my first time posting in the forums, we're gonna hope I'm doing this right. I figure more info is better than less. Basically my situation: I have a high charisma rogue in a large party. I don't do a ton of damage, and I don't need to do a ton of damage. I spend most of my time in combat on battlefield control (I'm in a homebrew, which gave me a couple of really swell options for keeping the enemy under control). I already had my expertise in deception, my most useful contributions have actually been outside combat so I've decided I'm going to play into that and multiclass into bard. In character my most useful moments are usually tricking npcs into letting the party go or telling us things they normally wouldn't. I'm really enjoying playing this sort of character who can talk themself into any building and talk themself out of any trouble.
Most of this I already have figured out: I'm going 3 levels in bard then back to rogue, and I'm picking College of Eloquence. (I looked at Whispers for a while, doesn't do much for me. We have other spellcasters.)
My problem: My google search for good ways to multiclass with rogue and bard has turned up mainly answers with bard as the main class, or builds that are more combat-focused.
That means I'm having a little trouble picking out what spells would be best from the bard spell list. I have a couple in mind, but I wanted to hear an outside perspective from people who are more experienced, this is my first campaign to get past level 3. (So please feel free to recommend an entirely different list, my feelings will not be hurt.)
Current Plan (I work out what I want to do as I level all the way through before and tweak it during the campaign, so this is for all 3 levels in bard, learned in the order I list them) Cantrips: Mage Hand and Prestidigitation 1st Level Spells: Charm Person, Disguise Self, Silent Image, Featherfall 2nd Level Spells: Zone of Truth, Suggestion. (Here I have a few options I'm considering using instead of Zone of Truth namely: Invisibility (because Rogue) or Animal Messenger (Because our party splits a lot due to size))

Thank you so much for your time!
i would not recommend feather fall but if bards get command, use command, if your campaign has a lot of low hp enemies sleep otherwise tasha's hideous laughter

I don't think bards get command but the other two sound like wonderful options! I'll definitely be switching out feather fall.
I would suggest Minor Illusion over prestidigitation. I also think invisibility would be more useful for this build than Zone of Truth
