So I am playing a pact of the blade celestial warlock with a multiclass of 3 levels into paladin and was wondering if with the pact magic feature I could prepare a second level spell from the paladin list as it only stipulates “You prepare the list of paladin spells that are available for you to cast, choosing from the paladin spell list. When you do so, choose a number of paladin spells equal to your Charisma modifier + half your paladin level, rounded down (minimum of one spell). The spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots.”
When the multiclassing rules ask you to prepare spells as if you were a single-classed member of that class, they are really asking you to do exactly that. Does a paladin3 have any 2nd level slots in order to prepare 2nd level spells? The way to answer this is to use the Paladin table, if you are unsure. If the single-classed paladin doesn't have 2nd level slots, you cannot prepare 2nd level paladin spells, no mater what your other class levels are. You have to get to paladin 5 in order to select 2nd level paladin spells.

You pick your Paladin spells as if you were a 3rd-level Paladin, and your Warlock spells as if you were a 4th-level Warlock. BUT, you can cast Paladin spells with your Pact Magic slots, and Warlock spells with your Paladin spell slots. So you could take a 1st-level Paladin spell like Cure Wounds or Searing Smite, and cast it at 2nd level with a Pact Magic slot. You can also use for Pact Magic slots for Divine Smite. BUT, you cannot use your Paladin spell slots with the Eldritch Smite invocation, that specifically says you have to use a Warlock spell slot.

The answer, as per the rules on multiclassing (page 163, PHB) is, of course, no.

Thanks to the both of you I guess I missed that part.
