Reading the text for Enhanced Arcane Focus makes it seem like any staff/rod/wand would work but in DNDBeyond it shows just the vanilla available. Can't even use other common items that are also staff/rod/wand... Unlike the other infusions it doesn't even specify a non magic item and this one requires attunement as well... Maybe this is one of those times i assumed it would be slightly more specific if that was the intention but yeah. Thanks for the responses in advanced. (ability below)
Enhanced Arcane Focus
Item: A rod, staff, or wand (requires attunement)
While holding this item, a creature gains a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls. In addition, the creature ignores half cover when making a spell attack.
The bonus increases to +2 when you reach 10th level in this class.
*also, I have googled for a while and every other question on this seemed to ask if this could apply to other types of focuses... not different weapons of the same type. I agree that this is specific to archetype not to the weapon. My biggest beef right now with artificer is that because a lot of these infusions don't apply to magical weapons they don't scale as well. (But they do get more magic weapons... It's weird because they definitly get an early boon but it starts to wane as you progress in levels
Hmm... interesting. Just feels so whitewashed. A lot of these infusions lose there usefulness extermely quickly. i was just wanting to add something like "staff of birdcalls" or adornment to add some flavor but I don't really want to put the DM on a line where i have to justify it mechanically and backstory.
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to imbue mundane items with certain magical infusions. The magic items you create with this feature are effectively prototypes of permanent items.
In general, when crafting magic items, you don't get to add multiple enchantments.
But if you really want a Staff of Birdcalls, you can do Replicate Magic Item to infuse a common magic item.

I’d be willing to adjust the ruling under certain circumstances, but your assumption is correct. Only wands, staffs, and rods can be used.
