So im looking at this artifact and im curious as to how it actually works in combat. Does it get its own turn when being piloted? If not, how does its regenerate feature work on a round by round basis?

Looks like they didn't think things through. The servant doesn't have a turn, it acts when one of its pilots gives it a command. I would probably make it regenerate on a fixed initiative (like lair actions).
Well, it might have its own under certain conditions, but i agree its a bit vague on when to ise the regeneration. Might be a good idea to have it roll initiative anyways and ignore if for everything other than the regen, at least until it activates its ghost within the machine feature

Ghost within the machine gives it one action per day -- any other actions it gives are the normal actions of its charmed pilots.
