I am a little bit vexed by the "Tales from Beyond" feature. The description does not state that they are magical but they use your spell DC and one of them lets you make a melee spell attack and a Tale having a effect does sound like magic to me. Are the effects that the tales bestow magical or not ? Can they be dispelled?
For example if a Bard bestows the Effect from the Tale of the Avenger onto a fighter, can an enemy wizard use dispel magic to end that effect ?
Yeah i read the sage advice criteria but was not sure if that is all that needs to be considered. And the fact that at least the "Tale of the renowened Duelist" does have you make a melee spell atack, which fits one of the criteria, had me confused. Seemed a bit odd that one effect can possibly considered magical while the others are not.
And yeah some of the things definetly appear supernatural but i guess they can be epxplained as magical lore wise but do not count as magic as per the rules.

Anyway thanks for the help&clarification :)
While they're generally not, this particular Tale of the renowened Duelist would be magical since it's a spell attack.

It doesn't answer any of the criteria for it in Sage Advice
Determining whether a game feature is magical is straightforward. Ask yourself these questions about the feature:
• Is it a magic item?
• Is it a spell? Or does it let you create the effects of a spell that’s mentioned in its description?
• Is it a spell attack?
• Is it fueled by the use of spell slots?
• Does its description say it’s magical?
If your answer to any of those questions is yes, the feature is magical.
Huh. That's kinda wack. But I guess if other Bardic Inspiration stuff isn't going to be magical, then this doesn't have to be either.
Sure feels like it is, though.
I agree, some of the things Tales from Beyond do are supernatural, especially those that teleport or turn invisible.
But they couldn't be dispeled with Dispel Magic if it's what the OP asked.
