Hey, I was wondering how the Find Familiar and Find Greater Steed spells interact with one another.
For example, say you cast Find Familiar to summon a raven, and then you cast Find Greater Steed to summon a dire wolf. Would both stay summoned (allowing for two animal companions), or would the summoned dire wolf replace the raven?
I was just wondering if there was some kind of hard rule about a player only being allowed to have one familiar at a time, no matter the spell/source.
The only general rule like you describe is spell Concentration. Some spells require Concentration to maintain a persistent effect like Entangle and a creature can only Concentrate on one spell at a time.
Neither of these spells require Concentration and they don't have any language that would prevent a player from betting from both at the same time. It is worth noting however that normally only Wizards have access to Find Familiar and only Paladins have access to Find Greater Steed.
Both spells say that “You can’t have more than one steed/familiar bonded by this spell at a time.” The wording leads me to believe that you can have both, but familiars and steeds have different abilities.

Find greater steed specifically mentions it does not stack with find steed, but neither spell mentions that being the case for find familiar.
Tl,dr: you can have 1 familiar and 1 mount via spells.
