I have two questions about how the thought shield actual works.
1. The phrase that states, "your thoughts can’t be read by telepathy or other means unless you allow it". Does that mean even mighty beings as archfeys, archdevils, demon lords and lesser deities can't read your mind? As far as i understood it only your patron has access to your mind and thoughts, maybe someone of higher power than them if such beings exists.
2. What happens when some tries to read your mind? Just Nothing, or does the mind-reading attempt gets redirected to your patron and scares the shit out of whoever tries to read your thoughts? Also, does the warlock realize that someone tried to read their thoughts?
1) Yes. Mind reading is actually pretty niche even for high level beings. Literal gods usually don't play by the same rules, so they might still be able to read minds, but you also don't usually encounter literal gods so...
2)Just nothing. Usually, there would be a save for these types of effects, so you auto pass.
