So me and my group are doing a one-shot for Halloween. My plan is to play as someone disguised as a different race, but only the DM is allowed to know. To my understanding, since it is a disguise (Hat of Disguise), all the regular rules for my race should apply (in terms of stats and so forth) Is there any way how I could best conceal my true identity without raising suspicion? I just want to make sure nobody curious would just look at the list of players in the campaign and immediately know what I truly am.
Make a homebrew copy of your race and rename it to whatever race you are disguised as (do not publish it). Then you can remove the homebrew race from your collection (not delete) so it isn't shared to your friends to get suspicious.
