Does the mouth of the bag of holding open up larger than what it appears to be. What does it mean that it has a volume of 64 cubic feet of volume. Does the mouth open up that large?
Nope, 2 foot diameter opening max. Trying to open it further could rip it, which destroys the bag and dumps its contents throughout the cosmos. When retrieving an object from the bag I assume there is some minor utility magic involved to ensure that the opening links your hand to the correct section of the bag's containment area where the desired object is located. If you shrink a thing and put it in the bag, then getting it back out after it has returned to full size (assuming its full size was not enough to tear the bag apart) will involve climbing into the bag to shrink the thing again. Debatable if the bag can be turned inside out while it contains any objects too big for the opening. I wouldn't try it unless I wasn't that attached to either the bag or its contents...
