Is the digitalised book on DnDBeyond App SIGNIFICANTLY different from the hard cover book?
Someone told me they can’t find “Battle Master” on their PHB, pg 72 or on their app. Either way, I am not getting 3 Maneuver when my character hits Lvl 3. Because they don’t have it on their book/app.
I just need to know if DnDBeyond is scamming us by creating a different version of PHB.

So far as I know, the digital version isn't a single letter off. Make sure you're referencing the PHB and not the Basic Rules, which the Battle Master is not included in.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

Are you looking under the Player's Handbook or Basic Rules? The Basic Rules doesn't have an entry for Battlemaster, since it's their freebie taster and they only included one or two subclasses for each class.
The original srouce of the Battle Master Martial Archetype is the Player's Handbook. You can even find an errata to one of it's maneuver called Feinting Attack in the Errata document
D&D Beyond books are up to date versions and should contain the same content as the most recent printing of the hardcovers.
As mentioned, the Battle Master fighter archetype has been in all printings of the players handbook and is on D&D Beyond if you have purchased the players handbook. It is important to note though that if you have NOT purchased the players handbook on D&D Beyond then you still have access to a set of rules and character options that are drawn from the "Basic Rules". These are a subset of the content available in the players handbook and at first glance someone might think that they have access to the PHB for free based on the Basic shared content when actually they do not.
If you want to determine if you have access to specific sources on D&D Beyond then go to the drop down for "Sources" and click on players handbook. If you get the table of contents for the PHB then you have access to it, if it takes you to a page telling you how much it costs then you don't.
The Battle Master archetype is on page 73 of the 1st edition and 10th edition printings of the PHB. The edition is important since some of the text in the PHB has changed over the years due to both official errata and stealth errata. This is usually just clarifications and similar, not adding or removing content like archetypes, but it does mean that the text on D&D Beyond for the published books may not be identical to the text in whichever printing of the PHB someone might own (the D&D Beyond content should be the most recent).
Is there a possibility that the DM excluded this Martial Archetype from it's DDB campaign and therefore it's not accessible?
I think you can only exclude whole books, and it only prevents other campaign members from viewing compendium content; it doesn’t block anything from the character creator.
Guys, I specifically point out PHB, pg72 related to the Battle Master reference…I don’t know why anyone keeps telling me about Basic Rules…that’s not helping at all, it’s like getting an automated reply from those online helpdesks where I have SPECIFICALLY detail how I have attempted all the suggested procedures before enquiry…I can read guys…and I am a human being, not an AI.
Also, the DM is experienced, so I assume DM has the materials, and the fact that DM said “Not in the thing”, book/app is there.
Thanks Plaguescarred for the references.
Thank you Quar1on for being the first, making that absolutely clear the Battle Master and its description is on the actual book.
Thanks David42 for detailing the difference in editions.
I guess it’s the difference in editions that caused the confusion? I assume the DM has the app, but I guess not? If the “thing” is the app, then not finding it would be very weird since I can easily find it on the app with a screenshot sent to him. If he has an ancient book, then it would explain why it is not in the “thing”.
Thanks all, case closed. Murder solved, drama ended.

Battle Master is available on the dndbeyond phone app.
It is on page 73 of my physical PHB (first printing 2014).
This web site always contains the latest errata incorporated in all their pages, but the existence of Battle Master won't have changed between editions of the 5E PHB.
The reason people keep mentioning the Basic Rules is because it could be the case that the "someone told me" person doesn't have access to the PHB on the dndbeyond web site/phone app (e.g. they don't own the PHB and their character is NOT in a campaign with sharing enabled).
1. DnD Beyond app is bugged (given that everyone else is fine), crossed
2. The app gave us the wrong reference page (again, someone pointed that out), crossed
3. The DM has a different TTRPG book (given that he knows what a Shifter is and he has directed me to details of the lore and specify its traits), crossed
My only prime suspicions are the only 2 left above (my last reply). With all the details given, there is only 1 assumption that seems fitting to the situation:
DM has an ancient edition of PHB, while mine is the updated one with a one-page difference from his.
Case closed, mystery solved. Thanks.

No it isn't. The Battle Master has been in the PHB since the first edition (and thus on DDB and the App since the start). It has gotten some small revisions over the editions and some stuff has moved pages a bit also but it has always been there.

Mystery is NOT solved unfortunately.
Battle Master fighter archetype has been in every version of the 5e players handbook ever published. The entry is on page 73 of the printed PHB (not 72 as you cite above). It is also in both the D&D Beyond (website and App) and printed content with almost exactly the same text - just small changes.
So - what could be going on since everyone here knows that Battle Master has ALWAYS been a 5e fighter archetype and is present in both print and D&D Beyond?
1) the most common suggestion is the basic rules which you eliminate.
2) You could be in a campaign run by this person on D&D Beyond but they did not turn on content sharing. Without content sharing in a campaign, the players only have access to the Basic content. This would explain your inability to choose the battle master archetype at level 3.
3) You are playing in a game run by this person, but they have not invited you to a campaign and YOU do not own the PHB on D&D Beyond. If you are not in a campaign with shared content then you only have access to YOUR content and if you don't have the PHB then the options will not be there.
4) You keep mentioning page 72 but the Battle Master IS on page 73. Could the DM just not be looking on the correct page? However, whether or not they can find it in their printed book has no effect on whether you have access to such content on D&D Beyond.
5) Last possibility I can think of ... is it possible that the D&D game you are supposed to play in is not 5e? If the DM is running 3.5e or another version, the battle master does not exist but shifters and other options do, though they aren't the same as 5e. However, in this case, if you are playing another version, you can't use D&D Beyond since it only supports 5e.
I need to know for certain:

Yes, I can find it on my app and the digital version. But is it in the actual book as well? If not, then I know why they said they can't find it.
If it is on an actual book, the app and the digitalised version, I don't understand why they tell me that is not in the book.

So Battle Master does exist in the book?

did the OP purchase the digital version of the PHB
Pretty much the only way he could have a PHB that didn't include the battle master is if he isn't using a 5th edition PHB.
I dont think DDB has PHB from other editions other than 5E.
