Question regarding familiars. Wondering if the range limits listed in the rules for the spell only apply if a caster is attempting to share a telepathic bond, or if it's a hard limit on how far a familiar can range from the caster's person.
I understand the rules state:
"While your familiar is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. Additionally, as an action, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the familiar has. "
However, there's nothing to state whether or not the familiar can venture beyond that range without directly sharing a telepathic bond. Like, say, can you send a familiar off to scout and report back as best as it can once it's returned to telepathic range? Curious what the conventional wisdom on this is.

It's the telepathy's range, the familiar can otherwise be any distance from you.
