Ok so say you have a level 10 paladin with 50 point worth of lay on hands healing available, and you use beacon of hope on your allies and then walk around giving each of them 1 point of lay on hands healing. According to beacon of hope as written it states that the player receives the maximum possible amount from ANY source of healing. So could you give out 1 point of lay on hands to everybody and have it give each person 50hp?
The amount healed by Lay on Hands isn't random, it is purely based off the amount of healing you choose to give.
Similarly, if you cast Cure Wounds at first level Beacon of Hope maximizes the 1d8 to an 8. It doesn't heal for an amount based on all available spell slots you could have used to cast Cure Wounds, just the single spell slot you actually did use.
