Most of the time for DnD Mithril is lighter and stronger then most normal metals hence the no str req and the lose of disadvantage to stealth checks. SO yes it would be lighter, in older editions it was even up to half as light as the armor normally is but I cant see to find anything with my very tired google foo for 5th ed.
It says you ignore the Strength Requirement and Disadvantage for stealth, but does it still slow you down?
No a mithral armor doesn't slow you down because it doesn't have Strength requirement, If you're confused because it still appear on D&D Beyond it's inapropriately put general information on armors.
Heavy Armor: If the Armor table shows "Str 13" or "Str 15" in the Strength column for an armor type, the armor reduces the wearer's speed by 10 feet unless the wearer has a Strength score equal to or higher than the listed score.
Any specific errata to support this? I am running a game and I am giving a set to a fighter and wanted to be sure I have it right.
Why would there be any errata? There’s never been any error or lack of clarity in the text. The speed reduction is the consequence of failing to meet a strength requirement. Mithral armor doesn’t have a strength requirement.

No errata because the Dungeon Master Guide doesn't originally contain armor listing showing . It's just D&D Beyond doing it probably for coding purposes, but never bothered to show it correctly and left them all intact with Strenght requirement and Stealth disadvantage despite the effect.
As written, as long as the TABLE says it should have a Strength requirement, it imposes the penalty, it says nothing about that being altered because of a lighter material.

And the original rule source doesn't say that, which take precedence on on D&D Beyond in any conflict.

The general rule cannot contain all its exceptions. The item in question says it doesn't have a strength requirement. Specific beats general. This is one of the most fundamental rules of the game.
While D&D Beyond entry removed the hide armor from the medium armor list, they didn't remove the rest of the applicable armor properties. It should have displayed -- to armors normally having Strenght requirement and Stealth disadvantage

That is why I was checking...

Thanks for the help.

Also from mithril armor from the DMG where it says it does not have str requirments, also also where it says its a light flexible metal.

Mithral is a light, flexible metal. A mithral chain shirt or breastplate can be worn under normal clothes.
If the armor normally imposes disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks or has a Strength requirement, the mithral version of the armor doesn't.
