I have a player attempting to make a tidal wave using the Flood of Control water plus Glyph of warding to increase its size. How would you calculate the damage this could do? Would you allow it?
Tying Control Water to Glyph of Warding is certainly doable if the Glyph of Warding is upcast. However, since the spell is on "auto-pilot" due to being triggered by GoWarding, the spellcaster cannot change the type of action chosen from round to round. So the Flood effect just keeps going for 10 minutes. The "tall wave" referenced in the Flood effect does not say that it causes damage, though. Ofc, if you can completely fill a room with water, the creatures in it are either going to drown or the walls of the room buckle and break somewhere.
