I chose the "Ritual Caster" feat at 4th level. From what I read in the feat description, I should be able to add two spells to my character (written in the spellbook). D&D Beyond allows me to choose three. Is there a reason for that? Can anyone confirm the number of spells that should be added?
The legacy Ritual Caster feat (which is way cooler IMO) gives you three and lets you add more. I don't think you're able to use One DnD stuff with the character creator as of this current moment.
Edit: I was wrong and misremembered. As Jegpeg said, this is likely because you are able to add more.
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

When you first take the feat you get two spells of your choice. (This is the frst paragrapgh of the spell
The However you can add other ritual spells if you com accross then in written form you can (itf they meet the conditoins) be added to your book. As D&D beyond does not know what scolls an wizard spell books you have access to it allows you to any any spell.
Say you choose the wizard spell list and choose Alarm and Detect Magic, as your two spells and in the levelling up progress you stop there. However say you had previously found a spell scroll of comprehend langages (possibly even before you reached level 4 as long as it is still inyour possession) you MAY CHOOSE to add this spell into your book but to do so you will have to spend 50gp on components and spend 2 hours to copy it over, higher levels spells cost more and take longer. This is when you would enter the third spell into the feature in D&D beyond (at which point you have the option to enter a 4th)

Thank you! That makes sense, and was the answer I was looking for.
