Acrobatic Movement: While you aren’t wearing armor or wielding a Shield, you gain the ability to move along vertical surfaces and across liquids on your turn without falling during the movement.
Step of the Wind.(LVL2): You can take the Dash action as a Bonus Action. Alternatively, you can expend 1 Focus Point to take both the Disengage and Dash actions as a Bonus Action, and your jump distance is doubled for the turn.
Step of the Wind.(LVL10): When you expend a Focus Point to use Step of the Wind, you can choose a willing creature within 5 feet of yourself that is Large or smaller. You move the creature with you until the end of your turn. The creature’s movement doesn’t provoke Opportunity Attacks.
So would I be correct in my interpretation that the willing creature would have no issues with moving over water or vertical surfaces or jump distances while effected by your ability to move them with you from step of the wind? Equally how does this interact with grappling?
I would say that the target could move over whatever terrain and make any jumps the monk makes. The target wouldn’t even need to make checks. It’s like the monk is carrying them.
As for grappling, the target needs to be a willing creature. So if your target is willing, while being grappled, then I guess your good.
My interpretation is that you move the creature with you while you jump or walk along vertical surfaces and across liquids on your turn without falling during the movement, this without even needing a free hand or touching it necessarily, Monk's Focus being referred as extraordinary energy.
