1. If you use your bonus action to move Gust of Wind (that you cast on a prior turn) onto three new targets, do they immediately attempt a saving throw (as if you had just cast the spell)or do you wait until the end of their turn before attempting a saving throw (allowing them to move out of the area on their turn, thus avoiding the saving throw)?
2. What if a creature simply walks across the Line (of the Gust of Wind)? If you had cast Gust of Wind on a previous turn, and a creature on the left side of the line decides to walk across the Gust of Wind to the right side of the line (not towards the caster), does it have to make a saving throw to avoid being pushed back while crossing (assume it exits the Line before the end of its turn)?
Seems to me, like other similar spells (Spirit Guardians, Moon Beam), that creatures should have to make a save when they enter the area of effect, or when the area is moved onto them, or at the end of their turn. However, this is not explicitly stated in the spell description.
To me, the wording isn't as good as other ongoing spells (e.g. Moonbeam, Cloudkill, Conjure Animals or Spirit Guardians), so this is just my (I think RAW) current interpretation, even if it doesn’t fully make sense considering the spell's spirit:
- A creature makes the Saving Throw when the spell is cast.
- A creature makes the Saving Throw when it ends its turn in the Line.
- A creature doesn't make the Saving Throw immediately when you change the direction as a Bonus Action (your question #1), nor when it walks across the Line (your question #2)
Just wondering about Gust of Wind.

Thoughts?
