So i'm running a campaign where 2 of the party have contracted lycanthropy from and encounter with werewolves. The current adventure is taking place in an abandoned tower filled with undead, for dramatic affect i want to have the infected 2 change for the 1st time in a battle then frenzy attack both friend and foe. I can't see any rules about if in hybrid or wolf form they could deal damage to such monsters. Also as they potentially could be in catacombs and not see a full moon even if there is one could they still be forced to change or could a magic spell such as an illusion force a change.
i do have a bit of a rule ref in the group so don't want to bend the rules too much but think this will definitely add some spice to the proceedings
Being in wolf or hybrid form wouldn’t change anything or give them any special attacks. Their attacks do not count as magical, if that’s what you’re asking. They would damage the undead per the undead’s description, so, for example, biting a zombie, they’d do normal damage. But if they try to bite a ghost, they’ll do half damage, since the ghost resists nonmagical b/p/s damage.
The other thing to remember is the undead damaging them. The above zombie’s slam attack would not harm the werewolves, but the ghost could still hurt them with its necrotic damage.
