The whole party doesn't fit onto one of these tiny hexes and if you spread everyone out then technically everyone is 5 miles apart. Should we just use one token as opposed to putting the player figures on the map?
Yes, if there's no combat or reason to track the exact location of each character, just use one token. If you need a 'marching order', you can always have their tokens arranged in the pattern they're walking in, off to the side.
