Animate object is superior when it comes to moving large objects.
Telekinesis has a limit of 1000 pounds and Animate Object only limit is the size of the objects.
So my questions would be:
1. Why would anybody use Telekinesis other than to move creature or object that is worn or carried?
2. Is there a limit to how much you can move with Animate Object in terms of mass?
3. And as we are in the topic of size is there a limit to how tall the object can be, because huge size determines only the area of 15 by 15 ft but what about height.
2 Not according to RAW. For an estimate, I calculated the weight of a huge block of lead to be up to 2,389,686.577 lb. So...
3 I'll make things more complicated. If a canoe is 4 feet wide, 8 feet long, and 3 feet deep, what size is it? What size is it if you stand it up? Just go with what DM says for this.
