My player made lvl 3 and chose Grave Domain sub-class for Cleric and so learned Spare The Dying as a Bonus Action - 30ft range. At lvl 1 He had already learned Spare the Dying cantrip as an Action - touch range.
He now has 2 variations of the same cantrip.
1. Can he cast this cantrip as a Bonus Action or an Action on his turn?
2. Can he cast this cantrip as Bonus Action AND an Action sequentially on his turn?
I don't think you get 2 versions of the spell, instead you learn the spell if didn't already know it, which for you the Range and Casting Time is different.
In addition, you learn the Spare the Dying cantrip, which doesn't count against the number of cleric cantrips you know. For you, it has a range of 30 feet, and you can cast it as a bonus action.
I would also add that the grave domin feature says to CAN cast it as a bonus action not that you must. So if he has something he want to do wth his bonus action he can cast spare the dying using his action if he wants. There is also nothing to prevent casting the same cantrip with an action and a bonus action (Sorcerers do it with eldritch blast all the time) so he can cast it twice on his turn once as an action and once as a bonus action.

Tell your player that they can only take Spare the Dying once, so they can choose an additional cantrip to replace the redundant one.
OK,
thanks guys
