If you mean darkvision with infrared vision, it generally can't see through magical darkness, like the spell darkness, unless the source of darkness specifically says it can.

That race's Infrared Vision feature is phrased more or less exactly the same as most races' Darkvision features.

I presume Darkness spell blocks not only visible-to-humans wavelengths range (390 to 700 nm), but also goes into ultraviolet and infrared range. Otherwise, butterflies and many other arthropods (possibly Ankhegs) would be able to see through Darkness, as will reindeers and sockeye salmon. Many snakes can detect in infrared range too, and I hope yuan-ti cannot get around Darkness spell that easily.
If Darkness blocks infrared range, then it would indeed block infrared vision.
If Darkness blocks all the range of electromagnetic waves, then it can also protect one from X-rays and gamma-radiation!

Can infrared vision see in magical darness??? Your thoughts please.
There is no such thing as infrared vision in 5e. Infravision was folded into darkvision, which magical darkness thwarts.
