you can probably already guess what i'm about to ask from the title but, If i take the option to use either Booming Blade or Green-Flame Blade on my turn, do i get the extra attack as well or does the use of the spells cancel out my extra attack? I ask because Extra Attack states "... you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn." and both Booming and Green-Flame say to "Make a Melee attack with a weapon..." does the Melee attack count as an attack action? or is this something different? i want to know because my Paladin is going to multi-class sorcerer and i'm wondering if it's worth picking up one of the two, or maybe both, cantrips or if they end up being a waste of a choice and i should pick something else.
When using, Booming Blade or Green-flame blade, you use the Cast a Spell action, not the Attack action. So, those spells are not compatible with Extra Attack.
