So, I'm really new to DnD. Currently only in one campaign, and it's my first, but I love it so much. Anyways, I'm hoping to start another campaign and I want to recreate Gilgamesh from the Fate series. I have a few ideas already, but I want to try and create him as accurately as I can, mostly the mechanics for his abilities. He's widely regarded as being absolutely OP and could destroy anyone with his endless volley of swords, spears, or actual arrows bursting from the Gate of Babylon up to Mach 5 (apparently they can fire that fast in the lore). He also possesses Ea, a sword-like instrument that can bend and break the fabric of reality and literally erase anything in its path. His most trusted weapon, Enkidu, or Chains of Heaven, fires in the same way any other weapon would from the Gate of Babylon, but they are stronger the more divine or heavenly the target is. Gilgamesh also possesses and incredible Charisma score, and in legend is said to have superhuman strength. His flaw is his hubris in that he is too confident and prideful to use all of these tools in order to destroy his opponents. Instead, he plays with them, vastly underestimating them, and pays dearly later on.
My idea, considering this campaign I'd be using him in starts at level 1, is that his access to his treasury, known as Babylon or the Gate of Babylon, is cut off completely or almost completely, and he's trying to gain it back. The lore of how he loses everything I could work out with the DM, but I wanted to know if you guys had any ideas for how to recreate Gilgamesh's abilities in DnD.
I was thinking of using the Bard class, as it would play into Gil's charisma very well, and Vicious Mockery is a must. With this, I could have Gil obtain (limited) access to his treasury through the Bard's Magical Secrets at level 10, getting two spells outside of his class, the ones I've chosen being Conjure Volley and Conjure Barrage, though I may choose to replace Barrage with something else, and Volley is much more potent as is. Hold Person and Hold Monster would also be used to recreate Gil's Enkidu. I would like to modify, at the DM's discretion, those spells to be Strength saves instead of Wisdom, and have them simply be chains and Celestial beings (or beings descendant such as the Kalashtar or Aasimar) and the like would have disadvantage on the saves, playing into the chains being stronger the more divine a target they hold. There are other spells, like Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion and Mordenkainen's Sword would be a good fit. For Gil being a Bard, I'd have him take either the College of Swords or Valore, can't decide. Likely Valor since you become proficient with Medium Armor, Shields, and all Martial Weapons. Swords just gains prof. in Medium Armor and the Scimitar. Doesn't fit well with the jack of all trades Gilgamesh. Gil's race would probably be Aasimar as he's considered a demigod and the race grants a lot of divine-esque stuff along with that +2 Charisma bonus.
Any help or advice is appreciated. I'm really new to DnD and this site in general, so if this isn't the right place to post this, I'll gladly move it. Any questions you have for me are also welcome. More info gets things done!
TL/DR: I need to make Fate's Gilgamesh from scratch. Main things: Gate of Babylon, Enkidu (Chains of the Gods), and Gil's Charisma. Modifying spell's saves and damage types is an option for recreating GoB and Enkidu.
I do realize that the post of several months old so you probably don't need the advice anymore, but on the off chance that this helps, here's my thoughts.
2 or 3 levels in Warlock and the rest in Sorcerer, you'll feet the Agonizing Blast Invocation which increases the power of your Eldritch Blast, and you could see about changing it so instead of blasts of force it just shoots weapons that disappear after contact, you could see about changing the damage type as well, but honestly leaving it at force damage is fine. And with Sorcerer you'll have Quickened can which essentially let's you cast Eldritch Blast twice in one round, and because Eldritch scales by there being more blasts, at character level 5 you'll be able to shoot 4 blasts (or weapons) per turn. You only need to take Warlock to 2nd level for Agonizing Blast, but if you go to 3rd level you could get Pact of the Tome for Vicious Mockery and two other Cantrips. Or you could get Pact of The Blade and be able to create any weapon, not that good mechanically but it works very well for Gilgamesh.
Sorcerer doesn't get conjure Barrage or Conjure Volley, but they do get Animate Object, Hold Person, and Hold Monster, they also get Earthquakes which could only of be reflavored as Ea.
