Simply put, the spell doesn't say whether the line form must be a straight line or not. It would be up to your DM's interpretation of whether or not you can select a curved path for the wall.
Personally I'd argue that it can curve, within reason. A right angle is gonna be a hard no, but if it bends just a few squares across its whole length, that would be more understandable.
As one of the options is that you can create a ringed wall up to 20 feet in diameter (with a circumference of 62.8 feet), it would certainly imply that the non-ringed wall could also be curved in some form if you so chose, as long as its length does not exceed 60 feet.

I totally agree. In my opinion, the spell states "you can make the wall up to 60 feet long" meaning that you can curve, zig-zag or make the wall any shape you choose as long as it is touching a solid surface and is not longer than 60 feet.
Well I guess it could be ruled that you can curve it, but all wall spells that are meant to be shaped state that you get different portions to put places or they specifically say if you can make them a dome or sphere.
If you wanna get really pedantic then yes, the spell technically doesn't say the wall has be straight.
Taking into consideration that every wall spell explicitly tells you if it allows shaping options beyond a straight wall, that Wind Wall is the only one that explicitly allows arbitrary curves, and that treating Wall of Fire the same way makes it an order of magnitude deadlier, it's obviously meant to be a flat wall or a ring.

I agree with this wall of stone says “the wall can be any shape you desire” and wall of force and ice say “you can form a hemispherical dome or sphere with a 10ft radius” even wall of water says you can make a ring, however none of these are described in wall of fire.

Yes, I would definitely not allow the spell to be shaped into a sphere or hemispherical dome, but I think that since the spell doesn't state otherwise, the wall can Technically be placed in other ways than just a straight line. As swamp_slug said earlier, since one of the options is a curved wall, It would definitely signify that this could be an option. Of course, this depends a lot on your DM and his interpretation of the spell, but considering that the spell's description never says that this is not allowed, there is no clear evidence to the contrary.
Does wall of fire have to be a straight line or circle? Can it curve or zigzag?
As long as it’s a line, it can be a squiggly line.
Curving and zigzagging wouldn't be allowed, but if you're playing on a grid, review Areas of Effect on a Grid from Xanathar's Guide to Everything:

Thanks for the responses. Just got access with the spell with my Druid so will see what my DM says.
D&D has a definition of a line, and it is a straight path:

So no curving unless your DM allows it.
Wall of Fire never says the wall is in the shape of a line.

Whoops! Should have read the spell closer. Since the spell doesn't say a line, then I agree with everyone else: Any continuous shape is possible.

I do stand corrected it can indeed be a ringed wall. I also believe what ever is most fun at your table is what you should do.
