For the gnomish Fade Away FEAT it has language that it lasts until the end of your next turn OR when you attack, force somebody to make a saving throw, or some other offensive ability.
My question is that since this is an OR statement, does this mean a wounded gnome could turn invisible and passively sneak around for an unlimited duration assuming they don't trigger the second half of that statement?
I'm hoping the case, as I'm interested in taking the FEAT for my inquisitive, cowardly gnome rogue ... he isn't much of a min/max combat build, but designed to sneak around and uncover clues.
No. The "or" means that as soon as one of the triggers for it to end occurs, it ends.
It lasts until the end of your next turn, unless it ends sooner due to you making an attack, forcing a creature to make a saving throw, or use some other offensive ability, in which case it would end immediately.
If you can avoid bright light, the Gloomstalker Ranger would fit your concept much better, because the character is invisible to any creature utilizing Darkvision while in dim light or darkness. And that is unlimited as long as you aren't exposed to bright light.
