When you finally hit with a Smite Spell, such as Blinding Smite or another one, will the effects of the Spell no longer activate on another hit? Initially I thought every hit, until you lost Concentration or time on the Duration was up, would activate the effects of a Smite Spell. Now I'm not so sure because they all begin with, "The next time you hit". So is it only one hit you get for these spells, or until the Spell expires?
The smite spells only deal their extra damage once, which is the next hit with the weapon.
Many smites have secondary effects that also apply and remain active for the rest of the spell duration (spell (effect) duration is counted from when the spell was cast, not from when the attack hit).
