Hello! I'm currently playing a changeling bard (and thinking of taking a couple levels in artificer now that it's available!) and I was just thinking about different ways I could use the changeling's shapeshifting ability when it occurred to me that I might be able to make myself clear.
I'm going to ask my dm about it, of course, to get his thoughts, but what do you guys think? Is clear a color? And if so, would/should this give me any boost on stealth checks? I know my clothes/armor would still be their regular color, but if I were wearing all black or camouflaged clothing with clear skin, hair, etc, I would be pretty difficult to detect. Has anyone used this tactic before-- I'm sure I'm not the only one to think of this....
No, clear is not a color. And the changeling doesnt have any mechanical traits that reflect its ability to camouflage by changing it's skin color either (maybe it will in future eberron updates).

Although that would be another good candidate for a homebrewed Changeling racial feat.
Personally, I'd enjoy ruling that a changeling could turn just her skin clear.
I hadn't even thought of camouflage yet! That'd be intense.
To me, though, camouflage should totally be possible, since you can change the color of your skin, etc. BUT maybe with like a performance check or something since it's almost like you're painting yourself to look like your surroundings.
I think I might rule that clear is a possibility, but only for skin color. Might be useful if you get injured, but not so much for stealth, walking piles of organs tend to attract attention.

But you could disguise yourself among the dead on a battlefield. Or just use clear skin as a flavor description for the Changeling's Beetlejuice power (Whatever Visage, can't remember the name).

Looking for new subclasses, spells, magic items, feats, and races? Opinions welcome :)

But that's just me. We're a pretty lax group.
