First of all, I’m new and I’m not sure if this is where to put this or not. If not, my apologies.
Anyway, hi all! I’m new to the game- I’ve never played before. Currently I’m reading through the Starter Kit rulebook but I quickly realized I’m going to need help past that. So as the title says, I’m looking for a DM to help answer any questions that I have about the game. And I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a lot of them. The problem is I don’t know anyone who plays the game so I’m not sure where to go to get answers.
Just a heads up- some of the questions are probably stupid but I’ve never played before so I wouldn’t know... lol.
The dungeon Masters only forum will probably be your best bet for generally DM stuff, while this will be good for general rules questions. There will be some gray area overlap where either forum will work. It's a good idea to see if you can Google your question (with a preference for this site, sage advice compendium, or a few other choice sites) to see if you can find something similar. Do be wary of the wiki sites regarding D&D as they have a reputation for homebrewed rules and items that far exceed the rules as written (RAW) or the rules as intended (RAI).
Outside of that, do your best to make correct rulings and expect to make some that are wrong. As long as your table is having fun, it's not a bad thing to miss on a ruling on the fly and find out later that was the case. D&D is a complex system with lots of moving parts... even Jeremy Crawford has to reference things and he is one of the lead designers.

Thanks in advance to anyone who volunteers! :)
If you have questions about the rules, you can post them and everyone will help answer as best as they are able.
