I understand that Dragonborn are resistant to certain damage types which are determined by their draconic ancestry, and I also understand Dragon Sorcerers, at level 6, can use 1 of their sorcery points to make themselves resistant to the damage type associated with their draconic ancestor. Now here’s my question: If a Dragonborn Sorcerer, whose Draconic Ancestor was the same for both race and class, were to use their sorcery points to make themselves resistant for an hour, but they’re already resistant, could that potentially stack and make them immune to that damage type for an hour?
Multiple instances of resistance or vulnerability that affect the same damage type count as only one instance. For example, if a creature has resistance to fire damage as well as resistance to all nonmagical damage, the damage of a nonmagical fire is reduced by half against the creature, not reduced by three-quarters.

No, resistance doesn't stack. Like advantage or disadvantage you either have it or you don't.
