With a +5 strength mod and a +3 proficiency bonus I should have a +8 attack bonus, but my character sheet shows +10. Is this a bug, or am I missing something else that would increase my attack bonus? The character is a wood elf, lvl 6 Oath of the Ancients paladin.
I think you're right, Saga. The Blade of Whispering Madness is +1 normally, and +2 against spellcasters. I'll have to edit the weapon so it only boosts itself, not all my attack rolls.
[Edit] Yeah, that was the cause of the extra bonus. Thank you for your help, Saga! :D
I've created a paladin, but my attack bonus seems to be too high. Here is a link to the character:

You have the Dueling fighting style. That gives a +2 bonus to one-handed attacks, essentially.
Its adding an extra +2 for the attack because of that.
Extended Signature! Yay! https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/off-topic/adohands-kitchen/3153-extended-signature-thread?page=2#c21
Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
Dueling adds its bonus to damage, not to attack rolls.
My guess is that your magic sword is a homebrew item that’s applying its bonus to all attack rolls, not just attack rolls made with the sword itself.
