As someone who is fairly new to the game, and running as a wizard for the first time, I clearly will have a few questions on my mind. Primarily in this case, Mordenkainens Privet Sanctum and Dimensional Door. As the person casting the spells, am I able to teleport into my own sanctum? Given that I made it, it would make sense that I would be exempt from the whole 'no one can teleport in or out', and 'planar travel cannot be used to get in or out'. But like I said, I'm fairly new to the game and very new to wizards. Any help would be pretty nice
Mordekainen's Private Sanctum does not have exclusions for the caster. So you, just like anyone else, would be prevented from using planar travel or teleportation to get in to the warded area.
That said, note that when you cast Mordekainen's Private Sanctum, you get to choose which of the security measures it provides, so you could let it be permeable to teleportation (yours or anyone else's).
Thank you mate, absolutely love the analogy. Just means I'll need to make a space right outside of the sanctum that's warded to hell and back since my whole role given to me by my dm is working with the bbeg. Can't be too careful when your existence is built to backstab the party.

The spell stops all teleportation, even yours. It is like building a wall, just because you built it doesn't mean you can walk through it.
