Okay, have an issue with some conflicting wording. The magic aura spells start out with:
"You place an illusion on a creature or an object you touch so that divination spells reveal false information about it. "
Which makes it sound specifically like it only effects Divination spells. However, one of the effect choices it has is:
"Mask. You change the way the target appears to spells and magical effects that detect creature types, such as a paladin’s Divine Sense or the trigger of a symbol spell. You choose a creature type and other spells and magical effects treat the target as if it were a creature of that type or of that alignment."
Symbol is an Abjuration, not Divination spell. So does this mean that the Mask option specifically can be used to get around any magic that targets creature types? Could a Devil covered with the spell get through Hallow by making themselves seem to be a humanoid?

It seems like it, from what the spell says. It sounds like the Mask doesn't care about the spell's school, or even if it is a spell.
