Hi everyone, I just ran my first ever DM session last night and my party of adventurers includes one Leonin, two Tortles and a Warlock with 'Scion of the Deep'
"You can telepathically communicate with any aberration, beast, elemental, or monstrosity that has an innate swimming speed, while it is within 120 feet of you. The creature can understand you and can respond telepathically."
The Warlock player has asked whether the two Tortles are considered beasts and therefore she is able to use the above ability to communicate with them telepathically? My guess is probably not, as they are an intelligent race, but I'm not entirely sure - can anyone help?

Nope, they're both classed as humanoid.
