An NPC gifted my Rogue with a pink pony. I'm arguing that if I roll a daily Wisdom check (Animal Handling), my character should eventually win over the pony and train it to bite everyone else, stay in place without being tethered, and other cool, horse-related things. Is there any precedent for training animals? My DM thinks I'd have to take entire days out of our campaign to train the pony. My RL friend says training horses is just a matter of reinforcing the behaviours you want, and can be practiced anywhere.
Secondly, what colour are ponies in the Forgotten Realm? I'm arguing that this must be a magical, or enchanted pony. The DM wants me to prove ponies don't naturally come in the colour pink. My Rogue is already on shaky grounds with the DM, because of excessive looting (which is why the pony was pink [to piss me off]) so I need some evidence to bring to the table.
There are no rules that govern the training of animals, beyond the suggestion that the Animal Handling skill will be involved. Your DM must decide what is needed.
There are even fewer rules governing the color of Ponies. The place to find out would be in-game. Have your rogue seek out an expert on Ponies and question them. In the end, your DM must decide.

There are no rules for how to train animals. Up to the DM.

The DM's the one that makes the call for your D&D game, not your non-DM RL friend.

Does it matter? It's the DM's world. If the DM says ponies are or aren't pink, that's what's true in their game, regardless of what a sourcebook says.
Neither the Pony nor the [equipment]Pony[/equipment] statblock describe the pony's color. I have seen references in different adventures to brown horses, black horses, white horses, so it seems that horse colors in the Forgotten Realms are assumed to be the same as they are IRL unless the DM says otherwise. (Which in your case, the DM did say otherwise!)
I'm arguing that this must be a magical, or enchanted pony.
Stop arguing with the DM. It does not end well.

There is none, because the DM has the final say on what color ponies "naturally" are in their world. If the DM says they come in pink, then they come in pink.
Pink ponies definitely exist... albinos. You should probably stop pissing off your DM.

Can I train my pony to bite strangers?

There are no rules for teaching/training NPCs/animals. It is all up to the DM.
