As the title states, I am looking into creative ways to use the spell Conjure Barrage (Ranger). I am currently playing a campaign as a Gunslinger who also creates special arrows for or ranger and rogue (uses a shortbow). My questions are thus: 1) Would you consider the arrows I create magical in nature or would you consider them non-magical for the sake of the spell? 2) If you dont consider them magical, would add the explosive damage (1d10 Fire in my game) to the 3d8 damage the spell already causes?
I agree with DxJxC regarding damage; it's entirely up to your DM whether or not the ammunition is magical. Based solely on what you've said, my DM's instinct is that no, it's not magical. But there could be a lot of details I'm not aware of there.
... a magical attack is an attack delivered by a spell, a magic item, or another magical source ...
So whether or not the ammunition itself is magical isn't really relevant. If it's being delivered by Conjure Barrage - it's magical.
True, but not an answer to the question :p Conjure Barrage can only be cast on nonmagical ammunition. The question is whether or not the explosive ammunition the OP creates for their comrades is magical, and thus whether or not it's a valid target for the spell.
In that case then I would say no - they're not magical. I mean if it's just made out of gunpowder. If it was made out of Fire Elemental embers or something then I guess it would be. I agree that would be up to the DM.

Well conjure barrage doesn't say the weapon adds its normal damage and there is no useful sage advice, so I guess it just does 3d8 fire damage.

Any damage that's caused by a spell is magical.

Well that's what I get for replying at 11pm.
