I am currently DM'ing a group that are trying to use spider climbing to get away from the Gibbering Mouther's Aberrant Ground. Does walking on walls get them away from the effect?
The ability text specifies that the ground becomes difficulty terrain. The walls are not the ground. If the players start their turn in the affected area, they still have to make their strength save. But if they pass and spider climb onto the walls, they’re no longer in the affected area for their next turn.

Thank you, Saga Tympana. I am glad that my players are safe from this, it was just a question one of them posed and I wasn't positive.
