I am playing the new artificer, and before I ask my DM if I can build something, I try and present him with the rules, so that if he says yes, he's got the official in front of him. Now, I've found that with Alchemist Supplies I can make alchemist's fire and acid, but there are also bombs in 5e, but I found nothing regarding how to craft those. Is there some official place where I can find those rules?
Bombs and gunpowder are in the DMG as optional items if the DM wants to include them. Crafting them would follow the general crafting rules, but you would need to get with your DM to see if they are part of your world.
Should be, he has stated that guns exist, but are exceptionally rare. I'm an artillerist. and we're running Ghosts of Saltmarsh. If I should be able to find gunpowder, it should be here.
There aren't any set rules for making gunpowder or bombs (as they are optional), it is up to DM. I would let alchemist supplies make gunpowder with a medium tool check, and make bombs with Smith Tools with low tool check.
I normally don't require tool checks for crafting unless it is complicated or hazardous work, I think this qualifies.
Yeah, there are a couple of decent "Malazan Sapper" homebrews running around the internet, but nothing official content that deals with crafting bombs / gunpowder / explosives that I know of.
Where did you find the official info for crafting Alchemist Fire.
Any nonmagic crafting follows the basic rule of if you have the requisite tool proficiency, it takes a number of days equal to the item's printed market value in gp divided by five and costs you half that market value (https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/phb/adventuring#Crafting). For Alchemist Fire, that comes out to 10 days and 25 gp for one vial. Of course, it's up to the DM if you can get at the requisite components in the first place.

I'd imagine your DM would just need to set a skill DC and material cost, then you'll be all set
