I recently rolled a Blood Hunter, and am thoroughly enjoying the class. However I have a question about the Blood Curse of Exposure.
Since it essentially removes a resistance layer from its target, if the target did not have a resistance to begin with, would it then become vulnerable to the damage type?
Or would this fall into the "DMs discretion" category?
No, removing resistance from a creature that doesn't have it doesn't give it vulnerability. Vulnerability, resistance and immunity are all distinct traits and don't bleed into each other.
I figured as much, although the wording of the Curse itself does imply that they do, in fact, bleed into each other. It's why I asked.
"Amplify: The target instead loses invulnerability to the damage types of the triggering attack or spell, having resistance to them until the end of the turn."
