I created a multiclass e-knight lv6, warlock lv12. The warlock has misty step and darkness that he can cast using lv 5 spellslots.
The moment that the fighter goes to lv 7 things change; suddenly I am only able to cast misty step and darkness with my lv 2 fighter spellslots, and I can't find the option to cast these spells annymore at lv 5 with my warlock slots. Even if I also know these spells with the e-knight.
It is wierd that I can use lv 1 spellslots of the e-knight to cast hex, and lv 5 spellslots of the warlock to cast hex ass well, while I am unable to cast misty step and darkness with lv 5 warlock spells. Is this a bug on dnd beyond, or what rule am I missing?
This is a big thing since u do not regain the lv 2 fighter slots on a short rest.
1) You can use pact slots to cast Eldritch knight spells and you can use spellcasting spell slots from the Eldritch knight to cast your warlock spells known.
2) ANY spell can be upcast. You can always use a spell slot equal to or greater than the level of the spell to cast it. You can use a 5th level spell slot to cast the shield spell for example. This means that you can always use your 5th level pact slots to cast misty step or whatever lower level spell as long as you know or have the spell prepared.
3) There is no point in knowing the same spells with both E-knight and warlock since you can use the slots interchangeably to cast them.

David is right, but I suspect you are having issues with D&D Beyond, not the rules. Try Bugs & Support forum, not Rules and Game Mechanics.
Also, E-Knight can refer to either Eldritch Knight or Echo Knight, I suggest you refer to him as Eldritch K, not E. Knight
