For the past couple of weeks I've been really into dnd. One thing I noticed was that medium armor only allowed a dex bonus of 2 unless you got a feat so that you could add 3 instead. Now, I also saw the spell Mage Armor which makes your base AC 13 and then add your dex. Is the dex mod added the same as medium armor at a max of 2 or whatever your dex is (say plus 5) you get 13 + dex possibly making it 18 AC with mage armor?
Spells do exactly what they say on the tin. Mage Armor doesn't say you have a max cap on the Dex modifier that applies, so there isn't a cap.
