I am curious about the effect of the spell Hunger of Hadar and Devil's sight, plus maybe other forms of sight such as truesight. The spell states "You open a gateway to the dark between the stars...A 20-foot-radius sphere of blackness... No light, magical or otherwise, can illuminate the area, and creatures fully within the area are blinded." and Devil sight states "You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet."
Is the "blackness" created by the spell considered to be one of the cavoites that fall under magical darkness? I want to say that it does or at least is the intention of the spell, but some people are sticklers about rules as written(RAW) and since the spell doesn't state that it is magical darkness that the devils sight evocation doesn't work.
If it does work I would assume that the creature is not blinded, because they could see in magical darkness, but if it is blackness which isn't darkness then the creature is still blinded. Or are they Blinded no matter what since the spell states they are blinded and its more than just the condition from being in darkness? Is there an "official" ruling by Jeremy Crawford? how do you guys see this working out?
Edit: question has been answered. Devils sight and true sight do not work, the creature is still blinded.
The blackness of hunger of hadar is specifically not darkness of any kind. This would block devil's sight and truesight, but not blindsight or tremorsense.

There is a tweeted ruling, but nothing in SAC.
Thanks for this. My friend actually sent me the link for Jeremy Crawford confirming the same thing.
