since warforged are technically humanoid, does that not make their corpses eligible to be targeted by animate dead? f so, what would an undead warforged look like, and would you be likely to see zombified warforged under the service of karnath in ebberon?
Similarly, the revived could have been a former warforged, and the revived seem to also be able to be reanimated under this same process (as they are humanoid and either undead or construct, with the rule on how multiple races interact) despite some of them not even being remotely fleshy (such as the "robot" origin or the suggestion that you might be an animated scarecrow)

i am soup, with too many ideas (all of them very spicy) who has made sufficient homebrew material and character to last an thousand human lifetimes
It is often suggested that necromantic energy has an inherently corrupting quality, which might magically "degrade" the target body. Metal could rust, wood would rot, stone may crack and become brittle. The entire body might become infested with some kind of organic slime. However, since Warforged don't technically "age", it's entirely believable that an undead Warforged could look just as shiny as a newly made one, which creates great opportunities for intrigue.
Thanks to magic and material choice, warforged have an analogue for muscles, bones, blood, and nerves including a heart and brain. They are built using a decent amount of wood for their flesh (which can rot, etc).

I've made zombie warforged before as mostly rotten husks full of moldy wood fibers. Their once glowing eyes are now dull gems.
For revived I would likely have them as normal albeit with a much shifted world perspective.
[ SageAdvice ], just confirming that Warforged can be targetted with Animate Dead.

Just use your imagination.
