So one of the things that annoys me about the sorcerer class in D&D is that there are a whole bunch of spells we simply do not get; and the only reason I can think of for this because we have access to Twinned Spell (and the points to use it on higher level spells) which means we can potentially double the effects of some quite powerful spells.
But this means we lose a tonne of spells that we should really have.
For example, I have a sorcerer with Intellect Fortress, and had intended to swap this for Mind Blank once I get my 8th level slot, but just discovered that I can't. And I think this is because unlike Intellect Fortress, Mind Blank isn't range Self, so you could twin it to fully protect two targets from psychic damage, charm etc., though I only wanted it for myself. In my case I'm going to just ask my DM if I can take it anyway with a range of Self, but this strikes me as an annoying omission, as we get the weaker little brother spell, but not the real deal?
One other particularly weird case is that we don't get True Polymorph, which makes a Draconic Bloodline sorcerer one of the few spellcasters that cannot turn into a dragon, meanwhile literally any Bard can because… music maybe? This is something I had to address in my own Draconic Ancestry variant of that sub-class, with Twinned Spell in mind (gain access to the spell, but can only use it to turn self into a dragon).
There are however some cases where clearly we're allowed the spells anyway, for example Power Word Kill, Power Word Pain and Power Word Stun, all of which can be very strong with Twinned Spell.
Anyway, my purpose for making this thread is that I'm curious what other spells people particularly particular wish we had access to, but for some reason don't (possibly due to metamagic)?

It's also weird that Xanathar's Guide didn't add dragon's breath to the Draconic Sorcerer's list as a spell that's always known, like the Shadow Sorcerer and darkness.

Frankly, my dear, I'd rather be listening to Rehn Stillnight.
Sorcerers have a strange lack of exclusive spells, despite having the third-most interesting lore of spellcasters (after warlocks and clerics). I get that they are not supposed to have a wide range of spells, but can you really say that Sorcerer is that much different from Wizard because of a single spell that they can take?
