I’ve been playing other classes for a while, broadening my experience as it were, but now back building a sorc and this spell, from Strixhaven, I mean wow, for a level 2 spell just insane!
Vortex Warp / I action / 1 target / 90ft range.
You magically twist space around another creature you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (the target can choose to fail), or the target is teleported to an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within range. The chosen space must be on a surface or in a liquid that can support the target without the target having to squeeze.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the range of the spell increases by 30 feet for each slot level above 2nd.
Now add these metas, both can work with it: Twin & Distant.
Seriously, my mind is tripping with all the possibilities I could get up to with this spell, its ridiculously gooooooooddd. And forget in combat/offence where it might fail, but on your teammates both in and out of combat, it never fails!.
The shenanigans I could get up to with this spell on a sorcerer I’m actually thinking of NOT taking it because at some point my DM will likely drop a herd of adult dragons on my head, just because.
Who's been using this spell on a Sorc so far, and did your DM kill you for it? (Only joking, but srlsy did they? :) )
As you can see yourself, it also makes a great teleport spell. It's 3 times the range of Misty Step.
Since it specifically says "another" creature, you cannot choose yourself.

I have a fantasy of seeing an enemy wizard on top of his tower, looking down at my party, gloating and telling us how powerful he is. Mid speech, I use distant spell with vortex warp and place the wizard immediately between my hidden barbarian and fighter.
I'm sorry, what were you saying?
