I have recently created a Scourge Aasimar Draconic Sorcerer named Morthus, because I thought it would be a cool combination. He has the haunted one background. Now I am having trouble coming up with a backstory for him. Any suggestions?
Based on the combination, I'd say being connected to Bahamut (or another good draconic deity) in some fashion would make perfect sense. Examples of this connection could be:
You have been chosen by Bahamut for some great purpose. A purpose which most likely involves the defeat of Tiamat and her brood/followers.
You come from a long line of mortals who trace their lineage back to Bahamut himself. Their line being originally conceived when Bahamut roamed Toril in mortal guise.
A combination of the above where you are apart of an order or sect bestowed divine power by Bahamut to fight against evil. With Draconic Bloodline sorcerers being considered especially holy and revered among the group due to being "twice-blessed" by Bahamut.
Did you have an idea of what your harrowing event be for your background? Because being so connected to Bahamut certainly would put you on Tiamat's radar as well as other nasty creatures. So I could easily see your character being a bit of an evil magnet, leading to all sorts of trouble for them and those they care for.
Also, have you considered multiclassing into a paladin at some point? Aasimar thematically lends themselves quite well to a dip into that particular class.
I planned on being connected to Bahamut. I didn't know what my harrowing event might have been. Thanks for the ideas. I wasn't originally thinking about multiclassing, but now I am.

If I was your DM, I'd definitely have Tiamat followers make you apart of some profane ritual due to your special blood. So be warned, haha!
