If i use my crossbow or a cantrip as an action, but I want to cast a spell for my bonus action, can I use a sorcery point to be able to cast a spell as a bonus action?
If you've selected the quicken spell metamagic, yes you can.

Yes that is RAW, and the point of quicken spell metamigic. You use your action to do other stuff and bonus action for casting your spell.
